As the weather gets cold, campus can start to look like a ghost town on weekends, but tonight the most chic event of the semester is happening. The Beaux Arts Ball is at 8 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

Sponsored by the Fashion Student Organization, the evening will begin with food, drinks and time to mingle until the fashion show begins at 10 p.m.

The theme this year is “Culture Shock: a twisted take on fashion.”

Nine design teams, each designing garments inspired by a different country, will present their creative outfits on the runway.

Some architecture and interior design students will help decorate, adding their creative touches to the runway and ballroom.

Admission is $10, and doors will close promptly at 10 p.m.

“It’s important to get there early to buy a ticket because last year the fire marshal stopped letting people in once capacity of the ballroom was full,” FSO President Allison Tranter said.
