Kent State Stark will participate in the 17th annual Make a Difference Day on Saturday — a nationwide day of community service projects.

This is the first year the campus will assemble a team and a project geared toward improving surrounding communities.

The campus has a number of projects to participate in:

-A Hammer & Nails project will take place 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will be doing small repairs, painting and landscaping at 1322 21st St. NW, Canton.

-A Habitat Restore project will be 12:30 to 3 p.m. Volunteers will help relocate the Habitat Restore by cleaning at its old location, 2800 Leemont Ave. NW, Canton.

The Stark County Hunger Task Force project will follow from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Volunteers will bake and decorate Halloween cookies, as well as prepare sandwiches that will go to children who visit the pantry. The pantry is located at 1121 Sherrick Road SE, Canton.

All registered volunteers will receive a Make a Difference Day T-shirt.
