The Department of Recreational Services will hold its seventh annual Bowman Cup 5k race/walk at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow.

The race, which will begin at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, costs $20 to enter.

Sign-ups are tomorrow from 7 to 8:15 a.m. in the rec center’s Pro Shop.

“We are already over how many people registered last year,” said Jason Hawk, interim assistant director of marketing. “We’re looking to have about 250 people.”

The race will take a new course this year. It will run through a new neighborhood in Kent and utilize the Portage County Hike and Bike Trail, according to a press release from the Department of Recreational Services.

The overall first place winner will receive $75; second and third place winners will receive $40 and $25 respectively, Hawk said.

Top three finishers in each age group will receive prizes as well.

After the race, the rec center will hold an open house for the community until 4 p.m.
