The field hockey team will face nationally ranked Ohio State in its home opener today at Murphy Mellis Field, its third game in four days.

“Ideally, you do not want to play three games in four days,” Head Coach Kathleen Schanne said. “We are having a walk-through (Monday) to get us ready for (Tuesday).”

The Buckeyes are 2-2 in the season and are ranked 13th nationally.

“They are always a tough team,” Schanne said. “But everybody has a different team than last season. They lost a lot of seniors but are still a really strong team.”

The Flashes are also 2-2 and playing strong, having won back-to-back games against Lock Haven Saturday and Pennsylvania Sunday.
