CHEERS
… to the country Eritrea, which recently banned female genital mutilation, a life-threatening practice that is estimated to have been inflicted upon 90 percent of Eritrean women.
… to the NAACP for speaking out against radio host Don Imus’ racist remarks and demanding his firing.
… to the recently inducted members of the Undergraduate Student Senate.
JEERS
… to Craigslist for not having a better filtering system of their ads, resulting in one Washington woman’s house being ransacked.
… to the national media, which is still spending hours on worthless coverage while more important stories are going unnoticed, such as the United States’ plan to create a missile defense system in Europe.
… to all of us who thrive on such worthless coverage.
