The Community Task Force will make its semester debut today with outings this afternoon and night to promote responsible partying.

Jonathan Bey, senator for community affairs, said between 3 and 4 p.m., he will be visiting houses on Sherman Street with Justin Jeffery, former senator for community affairs, Dean of Students Greg Jarvie, and Kent mayor John Fender to remind residents of the new noise ordinance laws before Shermania, the street’s annual party, begins.

Later, between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., Bey said three teams composed of Community Task Force members will patrol other streets where a large number of off-campus students live, such as Main Street, University Street, College Avenue and Willow Street.

Bey said the purpose of the party patrol is to prevent any problems that may arise.

“Our goal is to get to them before the police do,” he said.
