Cheers & jeers

(By the Daily Kent Stater editorial board and student submissions.)

Cheers

… to NEOUCOM students and faculty who have been conducting research to develop a drug that could stop the processes that cause neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.

… to Mary Seats, freshman fashion design major, and Shaun Zuhosky, junior music education major, who were crowned the 2007 King and Queen of Kent Interhall Council.

… to Larry Woody, a blind auto mechanic in Oregon, who hired a deaf assistant.

Jeers

… to Kent State for not having correctly labeled Braille tags throughout the campus buildings.

… to a Rhode Island mother and her boyfriend who were recently sentenced to three years probation after having intercourse in front of another women’s 9-year-old daughter to teach the girl about sex.

… to British Airways, who moved the corpse of a woman who had died in the economy cabin next to an unsuspecting sleeping passenger to give the deceased woman’s family some privacy.
