The Commuter and Off-Campus Student Organization will hold its annual Housing Fair tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The event, held each spring in the Student Center, is designed to help students who are considering living off-campus, COSO’s director Kevin Hallsky said. Information on more than 20 apartment complexes, houses, duplexes and townhouses in the Kent area will be available.

“It helps students narrow their apartment search in a short amount of time,” Hallsky said.

Special discounts and promotional offers are available only to students who attend the fair.

“The event is tailored for students who are moving off-campus, but there are services there such as Parking Services and Student Legal Services who provide a benefit to all students, not just those living off-campus,” Hallsky said.

Roughly 300 students attended the last Housing Fair, and the numbers are expected to increase to nearly 400 due to more effective advertising, he said.

COSO provides a free apartment guide to students who are unable to attend the event or want more information on local listings, available outside the COSO office and can in various locations around campus.

“We do put the apartment complexes’ information – name, location, phone, amenities, prices – in the apartment guide, which we distribute to students all year long,” Hallsky said.
