Women’s basketball team upset in second round

The Kent State women’s basketball team was upset by Northern Illinois, 72-68, in the second round of the Kraft MAC Tournament this afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena.

After receiving a bye for the first round of the tournament, the Flashes jumped out to an early 12-4 lead, but began to unravel shortly after. By halftime they trailed 36-30 and were never able to make up the deficit.

Senior Kristin Peoples led the Flashes with 28 points and senior Tiffany LaFleur chipped in with 10 points and 7 rebounds.
