Langland withdraws from provost search

Elizabeth Langland has decided to withdraw from Kent State’s search for the position of senior vice president for academic affairs and provost.

Charlene Reed, secretary to the board of trustees, said Langland – currently the provost at Purchase College, State University of New York – wants to pursue a presidency instead of another provost position.

Langland’s decision leaves Kent State, and President Lester Lefton, with two candidates for the position: Robert G. Frank of the University of Florida and Timothy J. Chandler of Kent State.
