Cavaliers to host career fair at Quicken Arena

Cavs fans looking for a new job won’t have to look far when the 8th annual career fair takes place tomorrow at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from various organizations in professional fields such as marketing, public relations, broadcasting, journalism, advertising and sports medicine.

“Students may learn about full-time, part-time and internship opportunities with a variety of area, regional and national companies,” said Bryan Ralston, manager of group events at the Quicken Loans Arena. “Each year, the Cavaliers organization conducts interviews and makes hires from this event.”

More than 35 organizations from Northeast Ohio are scheduled to attend the event. The deadline to purchase tickets is 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. Each $35 ticket covers the cost of the career fair, as well as an upper-level ticket for the game that follows between the Cavaliers and the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. The event is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., with the game beginning at 7 p.m.

Some participating organizations include Kent State’s Sport Administration; the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians; Key Bank; FedEx Ground; Ohio National Guard; the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Great Lakes Publishing Co.

Information will be available concerning full-time, part-time and seasonal positions. Internship and volunteer opportunity information will also be available. Participants are encouraged to bring numerous copies of their r‚sum‚s.
