BUS will hold emergency meeting

The behavior of Kent police will be in question tonight at an emergency BUS meeting, said BUS president Sasha Parker.

The meeting is in response to arrests made and the actions of Kent police at an apartment in College Towers Jan. 7. Five people were arrested, including three Kent State students.

The apartment owner and one of those arrested, Richard Rucker, 26, said police used excessive force on him and others.

Kent police Lt. Michelle Lee said the arrests are being investigated by internal affairs.

Parker is inviting those in attendance to speak about their experiences with the Kent police and offer suggestions on what steps to take in dealing with excessive police force.

The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. in Room 107A, Oscar Richie Hall.
