Allocations Committee holds first meeting

In its first meeting of the semester, the Allocations Committee of the Undergraduate Student Senate allocated $5,975, leaving about $15,000 worth of operating funds available for the rest of the semester.

Today’s allocations confirm that the committee “should have plenty of funds available,” said Sean Groves, Business and Finance senator.

The following Kent State organizations received funding:

• College Republicans — $1,000 to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., March 1-3.

• The International Film Society — $3,975 to screen six films this semester.

• The Financial Management Association — $1,000 to attend the R.I.S.E. (Redefining Investment Strategy Education) conference at the University of Dayton, March 28-31.
