Matthew J. Campitelli, the freshman computer science major arrested at his room in Humphrey Hall last Thursday, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 8:45 a.m. this Friday at the Portage County Municipal Court.

Campitelli is charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana, both fifth-degree felonies.

His father, Anthony Campitelli, paid a $500 bond last Friday. The bond was posted on the condition Campitelli stay with his father at 10818 Billingham Ave. in Uniontown.

The Portage County Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant after undercover agents allegedly purchased marijuana from Campitelli on two separate occasions, Portage County Sheriff Duane Kaley said.

Police arrested Campitelli after they found 181.2 grams of marijuana and $596 in cash in his third-floor dorm room, Kaley said.
