The Portage County Drug Task Force arrested two Windham residents yesterday at Ryan’s Place Apartments in Kent, Portage County Sheriff Duane Kaley said.

Chance Grier, 27, was charged with three counts of trafficking in cocaine. A possession charge is pending until the 21 ounces of substance found in his possession are confirmed to be cocaine, Kaley said.

Larry Grier, 25, was also charged with trafficking in cocaine.

These arrests follow the task force’s arrest of Mallory Michael, a freshman pre-marketing major, for selling prescription medication Thursday. She was arrested outside Fletcher Hall.

Kaley would not comment on whether there was a connection between the arrests.

The Griers’ arraignment date had not been set by press time.
