City leaders to visit, chat with students

Students will have the opportunity to meet with Kent city leaders tonight at Coffee with Council sponsored by Undergraduate Student Senate.

Kent City Council members, as well as Kent Mayor John Fender, City Manager Dave Ruller and Kent Police Chief James Peach, will meet with students at Coffee with Council at 7 p.m. in the first floor lounge of Eastway.

Justin Jeffery, USS senator for community affairs, said it is the first time council members will meet with students in this setting.

“It’s not going to be very scripted,” he said.

Although it is election night, Jeffery said the event will last for about an hour. He said he hopes that won’t stop students from attending.

“I’d love to see off-campus students come in,” he said.
