Undergraduate Student Senate executive director Ross Miltner thinks the senators are doing a “good job” so far this semester.

Each senator gave a report about his or her progress this semester at yesterday’s meeting.

All the senators were present except Amy Groya, senator for governmental affairs, who was excused for an illness. The senators all had positive outlooks on how the semester has been going.

As part of Benjamin Feld’s progress report, he and Miltner discussed this weekend’s Mobile Campus launch.

“We’ll have a temporary table on the second floor of the Student Center,” said Feld, senator for student advancement. He added that Mobile Campus will also have a booth at Tailgate Alley for the Homecoming game Saturday.

Feld also said he is in the process of getting in touch with the leaders of student organizations to promote involvement in Mobile Campus.

Preston Mitchum, senator for academic affairs, talked about the committees he has been sitting on, such as Faculty Senate and KASADA, an academic support and advising committee. He especially stressed the work that the University Requirements Curriculum Committee has been doing.

“There’s a lot of things in discussion,” he said.

Most of the discussion for the committee has been centered around changing course titles.

The senate also discussed the concerns they wish to discuss at their meeting with President Lester Lefton next week.

Concerns ranged from domestic partner benefits to plans for retention.
