Students to camp in cardboard at annual Sleepout

Several Kent State students will be homeless tomorrow night when Habitat for Humanity hosts its annual Sleepout in Risman Plaza.

Students will sleep in cardboard boxes from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. to help raise awareness for homelessness around the world and to inform students and the community about the objective of Kent State Habitat for Humanity. The event is also to help participants gain an understanding of the hardships of those who are homeless.

The Sleepout will include a speaker from the Miller House and a cardboard box contest to see which “home” is the most creative.
