Professor dies after 46 years at Kent State

Kent State’s most tenured professor died Sunday in his home of apparent natural causes. Assistant professor of history Bart Nolan, 73, spent the last 46 years of his life as a professor at Kent State’s Ashtabula campus.

In addition to serving as assistant professor of history, Nolan spent time as the coordinator of developmental education, adviser to the History Club, adviser to Student Government, member of the Library Committee, chair of the Student Grievance Committee and president of the Faculty Council.

A campus memorial service is being planned for later this month.
