“Big Brother: All Stars”
CBS, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8
The last five weeks of “Big Brother” have been excruciating to watch because every scene has showcased Will “romancing” Janelle even though they both have significant others. Even worse, Boogie seems to be manipulating and using Erika in every way, shape and form to get her to do what he wants. The sad part is that poor Erika actually seems to have feelings for him!
But it seems that Janelle and Erika have finally gotten their brains back with Janelle evicting Will, which was a breath of fresh air after the painful evictions of James and Danielle.
Still, as happy as I am to see the girls finally get a clue, I’m furious that Boogie is still in the house and he’s so sure of himself that he is actually throwing competitions because he believes he can continue to manipulate the women into the final two.
And the sad part is, after what Will and him accomplished earlier this season, I’m terrified that he will be able to do.
As for who should win the game, Janelle should be the victor. After four seasons of undeserving winners such as Lisa, Jun, Drew and Maggie, I’d be more than happy to see the queen of competitions, who has survived in the house on her abilities even though she made several strategic mistakes.
TNT, Mondays at 9
While the networks are premiering all their trash in the hope that something sticks before the good shows return, this cable mystery series has become addicting.
Every week features a standalone mystery solved by a wily, sexy southern detective and her crackerjack team of detectives in Los Angeles.
The show has become a major hit for TNT, and rightfully so. The mysteries are great and addictive, but the real star of the show is Kyra Sedgwick. She steals every single scene she is in, and you can’t take your eyes off her.
“The Closer” has a lot more style and wit than most other cable detective shows (yes I’m talking to you, “Psych”). The mysteries actually have stakes for characters and the culprits, surprising for this jaded “Law and Order” viewer.
