Kent State announces search for vice president for regional campuses

Kent State announced on Monday it launched a search for the vice president for regional campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies.

In an email sent to the Kent community, Interim Senior Vice President and Provost Melody Tankersley said the vice president for regional campuses and dean of the College of Applied and Technical Studies will serve on the president’s cabinet and oversee the seven regional campuses. The position will begin July 1.

“In this dual role, the incumbent will serve as the principal administrator for the college, including responsibilities for personnel, general administration and management, budget, academic and development functions,” the email said.

The position title changed from vice president of Kent State system integration to vice president for regional campuses to reflect its responsibilities more accurately, according to the email.

The university will use Greenwood/Asher & Associates, an executive search and consulting firm, in its search. Kent State previously worked with Greenwood/Asher & Associates in the appointment of several deans, including the dean and chief administrative officer for East Liverpool, Salem and Tuscarawas, according to the email. Barbara Boome, dean of the College of Nursing, will serve as chair of the search committee.
