Music Festival to be held this week

The Russian Music Festival will be held in the Carol A. Cartwright Auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday. The festival is part of the Balalaika and Domra Association of America annual convention and gala concert.

This is the convention’s first appearance in Northeast Ohio and will include local, national and international performers. The concert will feature a 100-piece balalaika orchestra which includes a Kent State staff member, alumnus and a current student. The 3-stringed balalaika is the national instrument of Russia.

Tickets for the event are $15 for students and seniors and $18 for the public. Tickets may be purchased at the door or through the Kent State Ticketmaster office.
