Two seniors designs to make fashionable entrance in Cleveland

Two School of Fashion seniors will see their designs go from Rockwell Hall to downtown Cleveland next week.

On May 13, Rebecca Urbank and Kelsey Zalar’s designs from the senior fashion show Contradiction will be shown at the Cleveland Fashion Show 2006, followed by designs from LJM Accessories, TBGR Couture, Fyodor Melnik and many more. The show will be held at the Convivium33 Gallery on 1433 E. 33rd St.

Designers for the show were chosen through applications and at school critiques throughout the semester. The two found out they had been chosen for the Cleveland Fashion Show 2006 Student Designer Awards in the middle of April, Urbank said.

“I was pretty surprised,” Urbank said. “I wasn’t expecting it.”

Zalar and Urbank have been friends since their freshman year and think it will a great opportunity for both of them.

Cleveland Fashion Week will conclude with a black-tie affair on May 13, preceded by events starting tomorrow. Tickets for the student show start at $55 and are available at www.fashionweekcleveland.com.
