Davis named MAC Hitter of the Week

The Kent State baseball team’s junior third baseman Andrew Davis was named Mid-American Conference East Division Hitter of the Week after leading the Flashes to two victories last weekend against Winthrop.

In the 7-5 victory March 3, Davis recorded four hits, and he finished the three-game series 7-for-14 with three RBI, and a run scored in each game. The Flashes won the first two games 7-5 and 12-0, but fell in the final game 6-5.

Davis is 11-for-21 in the past four games and is hitting .350 on the season with two doubles, three RBI and seven runs.

The Flashes (5-4) will face North Carolina this weekend in their fourth of five consecutive trips to the South. The first game is scheduled to begin tonight at 6 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.
