Starting today, a view of the winter sky can be seen without braving the cold, wind or snow at the Kent State planetarium.

The planetarium is used for astronomy courses, but also puts on shows each semester for the general public.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the planetarium is presenting a show on the winter constellations, solar system and recent discoveries about the universe. Each performance begins at 8 p.m. and lasts one hour. The presentation is an annual show, and each night’s performance will cover the same material.

The planetarium is located in room 108 of Smith Hall.

Planetarium director Brett Ellman said seating is limited, so he recommends calling to make reservations at (330)672-2246. Calls in advance are also helpful if accommodations are needed to make the show handicap accessible.

This event is free and open to the public. However, it’s suggested attending children should be older than age six.
