Patriotic music will hit Kent State

American anthems will be music to the ears of Kent State students this weekend.
Kent Classic Arts will host “The Sounds of Sousa Band” concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the University Auditorium.
The concert will feature various marches by John Philip Sousa and pieces from other composers such as Strauss, John Williams and selections from the Broadway musical “Wicked.”
The concert will feature Marcus Neiman and The Sounds of Sousa Band. Neiman will be the principal conductor of the 120-person ensemble and will be joined by guest conductor and Kent State Director of Bands Wayne Gorder.
Ten selected high school students and three soloists will perform with The Sounds of Sousa Band.
The concert is free to Kent State students with ID, but seats will be assigned. Students must arrive early to get tickets from the box office.
