Forum apologies

On Monday’s Forum page, the Daily Kent Stater ran a column written by Aman Ali where, in an attempt to use humor, he repeatedly used a racially insensitive word and racial stereotypes.

Criticism of the piece grew, and yesterday, the chairman of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Pastor Aaron Wheeler, asked to meet with Ali and Stater editors, black student leaders and university officials. A full report on those meetings will appear in tomorrow’s Stater.

In the meantime, Ali and Stater Editor-in-Chief Michelle Park offer these apologies:

COLUMN: I was absolutely wrong

COLUMN: Trust your instincts
