Night of the Living Dead. Friday the 13th. Hellraiser. A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Halloween is the time of year reserved for dusting off those horror classics you have laying on the shelf and giving them another spin in the DVD player. Well, put down the Swiffer because, just in time for this All Hallow’s Eve, the Campbell Brothers are set to deliver a new horror experience – no dusting required.

Kent State alumni Andy and Luke Campbell will be having a DVD release party for their newest gore-fest The Red Skulls tomorrow night. The festivities will kick-off at 7 p.m. with a Halloween-themed art exhibit at 425 Gougler Ave. in Kent.

The event will also feature performances by a couple of local bands. Following the art show will be a screening of the movie at 11 p.m. at the ECC on North Water Street in downtown Kent.

The self-released DVD will have a couple a special features including a behind-the-scenes “making of” featurette, cast and director commentary and a music video from the band Come Along and Eat It who will be one of the bands performing at the art show. The DVD’s will be priced at $5.

In case that wasn’t enough, the DVD will also include a teaser trailer for the Campbell’s upcoming movie A Cordoba in Bronston, which is currently in post-production. The movie, which is tentatively scheduled for a February premiere, will feature Duane Whitaker (of Pulp Fiction fame) and Joe Estevez (of Sheen family fame).

“The movie is kind of like, it’s a weird format,” Andy Campbell said. “It’s almost like in chapters, and each chapter has a new set of characters.”
