Weather cancels baseball against BG

The Kent State baseball team’s offense was just starting to heat up at the top of the second inning Friday.

The weather prevented anybody from getting hot the rest of the weekend.

With one run and two on base, the game was delayed because of rain on Friday. After a two-hour rain delay, the game was postponed.

Eventually the Flashes’ (22-14, 4-6 Mid-American Conference) entire three-game series at Bowling Green (23-11, 7-5 MAC) was canceled because of the weather. The series will not be rescheduled.

Kent State is currently in fifth place in the MAC East Division and ninth place in the MAC.

The Flashes will host Malone College tomorrow at 3 p.m.

Softball series delayed by snow

Late April is supposed to be the time for bats and balls, not snow.

Due to the weather, the Flashes (20-20, 8-6 Mid-American Conference) were forced to postpone their three-game series at Akron (20-21, 4-11 MAC) this weekend.

The teams were scheduled to play in a single game Saturday followed by a doubleheader yesterday, but the rain and snow forced the series to be postponed until today.

The Flashes are currently in fourth place in the MAC East Division, and sixth place the conference. The top six team in the conference make the playoffs

A doubleheader is planned for today, but the time and location is still to be determined.

If the games against Akron are not made up, the Flashes will move on to play at Eastern Michigan Wednesday.
