Kent State softball will finish up its five-game home-stand in a Mid-American Conference series with Toledo. The Flashes begin the weekend with a doubleheader tomorrow at 1 p.m. and finish the series Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Flashes (17-19, 5-5 MAC) are coming off of Wednesday’s split doubleheader with MAC opponent Western Michigan (11-19, 6-5 MAC). The Flashes lost the first game 6-5, but won the second 1-0.

In Wednesday’s doubleheader, freshman pitcher Keir McEachern pitched her third shutout of the season. McEachern only gave up four hits, but earned three strikeouts. McEachern now has six wins and two losses this season.

Toledo (19-20, 4-9 MAC) is looking to break its four-game losing streak tomorrow. The Rockets are continuing their four-game road trip in Kent after their loss to Eastern Michigan 5-1 Wednesday.

The Flashes lead the Rockets in the overall records. The Flashes are 38-31 over the Rockets. In the 2004 season, the Flashes swept the Rockets in a doubleheader.

Currently, the Flashes are tied with Buffalo for third place in the MAC East Division. This weekend’s opponent, Toledo, is ranked fourth in the MAC West Division.
