Grad student applications available for Board of Trustees

Brief

e student member of the Board of Trustees have been sent out by the Office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Students wishing to apply must do so by mid-March, said Dean of Students Greg Jarvie.

Graduate student trustees attend all trustee meetings, work on specific committees and are involved in the day-to-day processes of the board, Jarvie said. Student trustees do not vote at board meetings.

The term for graduate student trustees is two years, and it is not a paid position.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, Ohio citizens and registered to vote. Graduate student applicants must also have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be registered for at least six credit hours. Applicants cannot be on academic probation.

Students can go to the Office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, located in room 250 of the Student Center, for applications.

After applications are accepted, Jarvie said, students will be interviewed. The credentials of five recommended graduate students will then be sent to Gov. Bob Taft, who chooses the new trustee.

The new student trustee is expected to be chosen sometime in the summer.
