Kent Connects 2017

“Kent Connects” is a television news magazine which represents semester’s work from the Advanced Producing Class in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kent State University. The course is a “capstone” class for broadcast journalism seniors which draws on their four-year academic experience to produce long form reporting in a news magazine format. Lead by Professor John Butte, five teams of reporters and producers reported five stories; Ohio’s heroin epidemic, President Trump’s attack on the free press, sex trafficking in Ohio, Kent State University diversity, and The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
“Kent Connects” was recorded at Kent State University in Franklin hall on Saturday, May 6th and aired the following day, May 7th at 7pm on TV2 News.
