Kent State junior forward Justin Greene was awarded Mid-American Conference Player of the Year Monday.

Kent State coach Geno Ford was named MAC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row as well.

Greene averaged 15.6 points per game this season.

Ford led the Flashes to a 21-10 overall record this season.

The Flashes open MAC Tournament play Thursday.
