Junior Baidy Ba finished in fourth place at the Lou Classic on Saturday morning. He finished with a time of 23:43.0 in the 8k.
This was Ba’s third top-four finish this season.
Last season, he finished in the top three once; he also set a Kent State record in the 10K at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional (30:07.0)
Senior Ethan Yost and sophomore Dylan McBride were the next Kent State finishers. Yost had a time of 24:33.8, and McBride had a time of 25:06.9. They both set personal records.
Last season, Mcbride ended with a 26:08.7 in the 8k at the MAC Championships. At that same meet, Yost ran a 25:04.0 8k.
The men’s team finished 16 out of 39 teams.
Women’s Cross Country
The women’s team was led by junior Sydney Gallagher. She was the first woman to cross the finish line for the Flashes with a time of 18:42.5 in the 5k.
Gallagher was the second Kent State runner across the finish line at the last meet, the Spartan Invitational.
The second woman Kent State finisher was freshman Ella McCollom with a time of 18:46.0.
McCollom was the third Kent State finisher with a time of 19:04.4 at the Tommy Evans Invitational earlier this season.
The Flashes finished 36 out of 36 teams.
The next meet will be Oct. 13 at Bowling Green, the Falcon Invitational.
