CMU does not have enough available student-athletes, and per conference rule, if an institution cannot field a team, it will be forced to forfeit. This gives the Flashes a Mid-American Conference win, but that will not count toward their overall record.
Per conference rule, the member institution unable to field a team will forfeit the contest.
The Flashes (13-6) will move to 8-2 in the Mid-American Conference, and their overall record will not be impacted as per NCAA policy.
Kent State will return to action at home Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Western Michigan.
The Chippewas (9-10, 4-5 MAC) sit in sixth place in the conference, and their last win inside the M.A.C. Center came in 2018.
