Featuring craft beers, a variety of local art and craft vendors, Main Street Kent and Bell Tower Brewing Co. are bringing their “Crafty Crawl” to downtown Kent April 28 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“I love this event, and I love connecting with these people — they’re local and they’re creative,” Bridget Tipton, co-founder of Bell Tower Brewing Co., said. “It’s an amazing community building opportunity.”
Bell Tower Brewing Co., MadCap Brew Co. and North Water Brewing Co. will have craft beers, vendors, live music and special food offerings.
“We want to try to build awareness of our breweries and help out the local artists as well,” said Heather Malarcik, executive director of Main Street Kent.
If visitors go to each of the three breweries, they can get a Crafty Crawl punch card and enter to win a gift card, Malarcik said. Each of the breweries will be providing a $100 gift card, and Main Street Kent will be offering a $100 Kent e-gift card that can be spent at over 30 downtown businesses.
Bell Tower Brewing Co. will feature all types of vendors from pottery, trinkets, knitted goods, jewelry, pet stuff, woodworking pieces and more, Tipton said.
“This year we think it’s going to be really busy as it is the week before Mother’s Day and Kent graduation,” Tipton said. “When I curated the vendors, I had those two gifting purposes in mind.”
The intent of the Crafty Crawl is to connect people to the three breweries and local vendors, Tipton said.
“The hope is that people will get out, check out the breweries and do a little shopping,” Malarcik said.
