The city of Kent and surrounding cities will celebrate the Fourth of July with the following events:
Starting off in Kent, North Water Brewing Company in downtown Kent is hosting a Sporcle trivia night for the fourth. The event consists of two games, one at 7 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m.
The first place winner receives a $20 North Water gift card and the second place winner receives a $15 gift card.
The brewing company hosts a weekly running club during the same time.
MadCap brewing company and The Lake House will have trivia Thursday evening as well.
Outside of Kent, the Stow Fourth of July parade will march through State Route 59 next to the Stow Community Center.
A Fourth of July tradition, firework displays are scheduled around the Kent area, according to the Central Portage County Visitors and Conventions Bureau.
On July 3, the McKinley Presidential Library in Canton will have its firework show at 9:45 p-m. Hiram is hosting its own firework show at Hiram College Football Field.
On July 4, Akron’s Patterson Sports Complex and the Akron Executive airport will each display fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
Aurora’s Kiwanis-Moore park will shoot off fireworks near West Pioneer Trail.
Kent will see fireworks on July 6 for the Kent Heritage festival.
