With several Kent State students aiming to vote, a shuttle bus near the Student Center took students to the Student Recreation and Wellness Center to fulfill their constitutional rights. The shuttle bus was run by Kent State Votes.
The bus began driving students to vote at noon today, making stops every thirty minutes to pick up and drop off young voters. The bus is available until 7:30 p.m. and can be found near the M.A.C.C. and the Student Center.
Finn Snyder, a freshman nursing major, showed up to get on the shuttle and vote.
With many students and voters feeling a sense of voter anxiety when thinking about and participating in the election, Snyder said he felt stressed about this year’s election.
“I feel more focused on classes,” Snyder said.
Several key issues, such as reproductive rights, inflation and border security have been discussed by both candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, as topics of interest.
“I’m focused on abortion, Roe v. Wade, good stuff like that,” Snyder said. “LGBT rights as well.”
Snyder, who was not old enough to vote in the 2022 Primary Elections, said he will be voting similarly to how he thought two years ago, and he describes himself as “liberal.”
