Mental health services at Kent State Stark will be offered for free: online or in-person, starting fall 2021.

The services offered for mental health are located in the Campus Center.

According to the university, the counseling sessions are offered year-round and are confidential. The appointments will be 50 minutes long. Counseling sessions are there for students who are going through a difficult time.

Kelsey Kalgreen, a clinical counselor at Kent State Stark, provides students with mental health resources.

“We offer counseling, crisis assessments and referrals for community resources,” Kalgreen said.

“Counseling is most effective when the student feels comfortable,” Kalgreen said. “Give it a couple of sessions, meet with that person and give it a fair shot.”

You are not alone in your mental illness; there are ways to get help.

Setting up an appointment for counseling can be done online, on campus or by calling 330-244-5048.  If you cannot wait for an appointment, please call the Stark County Crisis Hotline at 330-452-6000. If you are suicidal, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255
