George Brinkman pleaded guilty on Monday to murdering three women, including Kent State student Taylor Pifer, in their North Royalton home June 2017, according to Cuyahoga Common Pleas Court documents.

Pifer, a junior fashion design major, her sister Kylie Pifer and their mother Suzanne Taylor were found dead in their home June 11.

After an eight-hour standoff with police, Brinkman, 46, was taken into custody at his home in Brunswick.

Brinkman is also accused of being responsible for the deaths of Lake Township residents Rogell Eugene John, 71, and his wife, Roberta Ray John, 64, whose bodies were found a day after those in North Royalton. Brinkman worked for Rogell John and dated the couple’s daughter.

By pleading guilty, Brinkman waives his right to a trial by jury and will instead face a three-judge panel, which will determine if he receives the death penalty or life in prison.
