The Kent State women’s golf team was seven strokes away from first place at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invite. Kent state managed to also beat three schools ranked higher than them.

Kent State continued on with their journey of consistency. Being able to place far ahead of schools ranked higher than you takes a lot of practice and determination.

Third place was 14 strokes away from Kent State creating a gap between them and the competition.

The Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invite was the last tournament for the Kent State women. They were able to finish in second place to finish out their season.

The team went up against four other teams in the top 30 for women’s golf:  Alabama, University of Texas, and The University of Florida, and Baylor.

Senior Michaela Finn came in on the top for Kent State placing in third place with a total of 213 for the three rounds.

Junior Karoline Stormo tied for seventh with a 217. Sophomore Chloe Salort tied for 14th with a 220.

Sophomore Kory Nielsen tied for 17th with a 221.

Lastly, Pimnipa Panthong tied for 23rd with a 223.

The women’s spring season will start up on Jan. 26, for the Alumni Match and their first away tournament will be in Orlando, Florida for the UCF Challenge on Feb. 3.
