Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Pamela E. Bobst of Rocky River, Ohio, to the Kent State Board of Trustees on Monday. She’ll formally serve through May 16, 2030.

Bobst currently serves as mayor of Rocky River in Cuyahoga County and has been in the position since 2006. She has also been a board member on the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission since 2017 and on the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) since 2008. 

She has also been involved in many civic boards, including the Community West Foundation, the Fairview Hospital Community Advisory Board, the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce and the Rocky River Women’s Club, according to a press release sent out by Kent State. 

Bobst earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in healthcare access/public health, and went on to receive her Master of Education degree from Kent State in community health education. 

“As a proud graduate of Kent State University, I look forward to working with the university’s dedicated leadership, administration, faculty and students to not only focus on today’s successes, but to advance a shared vision of excellence that places the greatest importance on students and their significant impact on the world around them,” Bobst wrote in a press release.

She will succeed former Board Chair and Trustee Ralph M. Della Ratta.
