Election Day 2017 is here.

Voters in Kent headed out to the polls this morning to cast their votes on various Issues with Issue 2 and Issue 8 being the most controversial. 

Voting started at 6:30 a.m. and will be open until 7:30 p.m.

Various locations will be open for voting all day and the process is expected to run more smoothly this year. Portage County will no longer be using punch cards for ballots. Instead, there will be touch screen systems.

You must be registered in Portage County to cast your vote based on your home address at the following locations:

  • Riverwood Community Chapel
  • Kent Free Library
  • Franklin Elementary
  • Kent American Legion
  • Fred Fuller Shelter House
  • Kent Christian Life Center Assembly of God
  • Trinity Lutheran Church
  • KSU Wellness Center
  • Kentway Retirement Center
  • United Church of Christ
  • United Methodist Church

Upon arriving at the polling station, voters must have a photo ID and a second form of identification like a utility bill or a bank statement.
