April 25, 2017
On March 10, Ohio University point guard Jaaron Simmons scored 25 points in the Bobcats 68-66 loss to Kent State in the MAC tournament semi-finals.
The game now serves as Simmons’ last game in a Ohio uniform, as it was announced early Tuesday that Simmons will transfer to the University of Michigan.
Simmons averaged 15.9 points per game last season, a clip that led the Bobcats. Simmons is now the fourth player to transfer away from Athens this offseason.

And the Kent State men’s basketball team gained another player via transfer Tuesday, as Junior College forward Akien Fredrick announced via twitter that he will be attending Kent State this fall.
Fredrick spent the past two years at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, where he averaged 22.4 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game this past season. Fredrick will be joining the Flashes’ team — who will be losing four players this offseason due to transfers and graduation.
