The Kent Free Library is transforming its first floor café and Carnegie Section into a “quiet and comfy study hall” for students from May 6 to 10 for finals week. 

“A lot of Kent State students study here throughout the year, so we want them to feel extra welcome during finals week,” said Kristen Pool, community and special services manager at Kent Free Library. “This is our fourth year offering this to students. Their hard work energizes our building that we love.”

The library will provide free tea and coffee for all Kent State students if they show their student ID and bring their own cup. For those wanting some privacy while studying, there are two different two-hour study rooms for students on a first-come-first-serve basis.

In addition, there is a small conference room for groups up to eight people and a large conference room for up to 30 people, which both can be reserved a week in advance.

Along with free wifi, the library offers students black and white printing for 10 cents and color printing for 25 cents.
