In honor of International Women’s Day, The Kent Stater is releasing a sneak-peek of our project “Celebrating Diversity: The Women of Kent State.”
March is Women’s History Month, and our project aims to recognize the stories of a diverse group of women in the Kent State community. While we aren’t releasing the full project quite yet, The Kent Stater would like to share the perspective of three women featured in the project: president of PRIDE! and Threads, Gabrielle Cooper; president of the Deaf Power Organization, Elexis Blake; and senior lecturer and Director of the Center of Pan-African Culture, Traci Williams.
Each has their own unique story and perspectives, but what they share is their passion and pride in being a women in the United States in 2017.
Look out for the rest of their stories and more at the end of the month in “Celebrating Diversity: The Women of Kent State.”
