The Battleground re-opens after 2 and a half month hiatus
March 19, 2021
After closing January of this year, the Battleground, a traditional Mexican restaurant, reopened Thursday.
Rosi Peruyero Noden, owner of the Battleground, chose to temporarily close the restaurant because of COVID-19.
“The pandemic was really bad in December,” Peruyero Noden said. “It was very unsafe to be serving people and unsafe for the servers as well.”
Now with limited indoor seating and plans for the future, the restaurant welcomes customers back in.
“We are doing the exact same thing, same base menu. But we are having new specials every month,” Peruyero Noden said. “For people who want to try new things, all of our specials are very exciting dishes that you can’t find around here.”
The new specials are not the only exciting thing coming to the Battleground. With their patio being resurfaced and the weather getting warmer, Peruyero Noden looks forward to the future of the restaurant.
“We’re having events starting in May,” Peruyero Noden said. “Music every Friday from local artists, and we are opening Saturday and Sunday for brunch starting on Mother’s Day.”
