Kent State to confer over 2,500 degrees at fall commencement

Kent State will confer 2,544 degrees at this year’s fall semester commencement ceremonies. Set for this Friday and Saturday, the ceremonies will take place at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the university’s main campus.

Over the two-day period, 1,773 will be bachelor degrees, 715 master’s degrees, 55 doctoral degrees, and one education specialist degrees.

Friday’s ceremony for advanced degrees from all colleges begins at 6 p.m.

 Two ceremonies for the distribution of four-year degrees will be held on Saturday: The first starts at 9:30 a.m. for the Colleges of Applied Engineering, Sustainability and Technology, Business Administration, Communication and Information, Education, Health and Human Services and the School of Digital Sciences.

A second ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m. for the Colleges of Architecture and Environmental Design,The Arts Arts and Sciences, Nursing and Public Health.

This year’s keynote speaker for the ceremonies will be Douglas Steidl, the former dean of the university’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design from 2010-16.
