The Ravenna Police Department and the Portage County Sheriff’s Department are still looking for the person who shot and killed two people Wednesday afternoon. 

Police responded to a 911 call just before 2:30 p.m. on Henderson Road in Ravenna. LeShaun Sanders and Sarah Marsh were both shot, and Sanders, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Marsh, 32, was taken to University Hospital, where she later died. According to the Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Marsh was six to 10 weeks pregnant.

As of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the suspect, David Darnell Calhoun, Jr., 25, is still at large.

Calhoun was released from prison in April after serving time for armed robbery. He is described as being 5’9” and weighing 182 lbs.

Nearby, Ravenna High School was placed on lockdown after the shooting was reported. Officials lifted the lockdown around 3 p.m. 

Students were escorted by law enforcement officers and school officials to their vehicles once given the all-clear, according to the Ravenna Police scanner.  School buses were instructed to take students to a safe location during the location. Following the lifting of the lockdown, they resumed their regularly scheduled drop offs.
