Soccer winning streak snapped by Central Michigan
October 14, 2016
Kent State women’s soccer was looking to extend their winning streak to 11 games Friday, but a strong Central Michigan University team held the Flashes to a tie.
Junior defender Jamie Eiben scored her first goal of the season in the 60th minute to put the Flashes up 1-0.
Central Michigan responded less than four minutes later when a cross from senior midfielder Eliza Van de Kerkhove found its way past Flashes goalkeeper, Ashleah McDonald.
A tie at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime. Both teams had their fair share of chances but neither was able to capitalize.
Kent State, who was previously undefeated in the Mid-American Conference, fell to 6-1 in the conference and 10-1-1 on the season
Kent State will play Eastern Michigan University at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
